Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue aids in scar tissue formation; breaks the stress, tension, and pain cycle; relaxes muscle so circulation will increase and the body will return to homeostasis (equilibrium); breaks pain and spasm cycles, aids the healing process of injured soft tissue; compliments orthopedic, physical therapy, and chiropractic techniques; and can release emotions. Chronic problems usually need multiple regular sessions for long term effects to take place.

Other types of Deep Tissue include: Rolfing, structural integration, Hellerwork, trigger point therapy, myotherapy, and Looyen Work. Some people also use the term “sports massage” to mean deep tissue.
